Handling
: |
Sodium Nitrite is
oxidising as well as reducing agent. May cause skin or eye irritation. Harmful or fatal if
swallowed. Use PVC hand gloves and safety equipments to avoid skin or eye contact. Over
exposure may lead to dizziness, vomitting or unconsiousness. Symptoms of Nitrite poisoning
may bause Haemoeathis unjuries or drop in bolld pressure. In case of spillage or fire
flush affected area with plenty of water. |

INCOMPATABILITY
With Ammonium salts, Sodium and Potassium Pyrosulphites.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID
In case of eye contact flush eyes with water for 15 minutes abd call a physician. If
swallowed induce vomiting, give water to drink and call a physician. In case of
inhalation, remove to fresh air. In case of breathing difficulty give sufficient oxygen.
